CustomRom is a customized firmware used in devices to break the limitations added in StockRom (preinstalled operating system) by OEMs (original equipment manufacturer), Custom Roms comes with many useful features which cannot be used in stock Roms like Enable Wifi & hotspot at same time, use internal storage as Ram, etc. CustomRoms are a great option for older device which are outdated and not receiving updates from OEMs, CustomRom provides higher android Version as compare to StockRom in a specific device

Security

1. CustomRom requires unlocked boot loader, In unlocked boot loader virus apks or scripting files can be flashed only through USB debugging with computer, until user roots the device, in rooted devices viruses or scripting files can be flashed without computer                                        
2. For better security disable the USB debugging and avoid USB connection with non trusted computers, Avoid rooting the device

2. If device has only unlocked bootloader(not rooted or not installed SU binaries) then its sensitive data can pulled from device or device can be flashed with virus containing apks or other scripting files this can be done only through usb connection with computer, if device is rooted then above things can be also done without usb connection
3. If CustomRom configured incorrectly then it can reduce the life of device's hardware. e.g.- an user needs higher performance from its device and they overclocked the SOC incorrectly with administrative tools it will affect device's hardware and reduce device's life
